I have been very busy with my day job and my Mac Mini also bit the dust, I use it to make my videos. Things will ramp up hopefully by the end of the month. Just know anyone can add content to LHTR in hopes to help out the community.
hmmmm... mac mini bit the dust?.... I was thinking of getting one but I am torn between the future imac and the mini.... I keep hearing different things that continue to make me wait on the purchase.... How old was your mini ?
Mine was just shy of 2 years old. The Firewire port went bad and then things got worse. The only to fix it is to get a new logic board = over $300 ouch. I will either get a new one or make one...still deciding?
2 years... that is terrible... macs in the past were built to last for a very long time... I have G3's over 15 years old that are still working and even an ancient performa that is much older... G4 still lives... G5 still my main production machine... I have Reason 6.5.3 on a 2 year old macbook pro because of the lack of support for PPC.... I keep hearing so many conflicting stories about the new macs, so yes.... still deciding. Seems every time a spend major money on a system that seems solid and safe to buy, the companies involved drop support for the model shortly after. This happened with an old UMAX PPC mac/windows frankenstein machine and my G5... so twice bitten... twice shy.
